RCP Shelters Plays a Mayor Role
RCP Shelters Inc, the industry’s most diverse shelter manufacturer, and its 55-year legacy extends its presence to Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ. RCP Shelters’ engineers are certified in all 50 states and Canada.
The Liberty State Park New Picnic Area project broke ground on Sept 19, 2011 and was completed May 25, 2012. Ed Gribben, RCP project manager, states, “The project presented challenges that our shop handled relatively easily.” The three pavilions, 28’ x 44’, 38’ x 60’, and 30’ x 44’, consist of structural tube steel frame, intricate curved tube steel ornamentation, select Hem Fir deck and fascia, and true standing seam metal roofing.
The Liberty State Park pavilions were designed with complex requirements and high expectations. These highly customized pavilions included ornate curved tube steel, requiring precise manufacturing, on the ends of the pavilions. Following the fabrication process, the columns and frame were factory powder coated. Skylights were field installed to complete the desired architectural appearance. These details are the cornerstone to producing a quality structure, and the standard by which RCP Shelters delivers its products.
The project had several other key contributors. USA Architects, Jeral Construction (general contractor), Whirl Construction (installer), and Marturano Recreation (NJ sales representative for RCP Shelters) all played key roles in the project.
